Fix Your Eyes

In a world filled with chaos, with seemingly no hope, what do we do? How do we keep going? How do we live without fear?

The world is telling you that you’re sick, in danger, and there’s no way out.

How can we live in a world with so much negativity?

It’s very simple. We turn our eyes to the Father.

There’s a hymn I sang countless times growing up in a small country church and the words are so fitting for the current state of the world we’re living in.

“Turn your eyes upon Jesus. Look full in His wonderful face. And the things of earth will grow strangely dim, in the light of His glory and grace.”

It matters what our eyes our fixed on. If your eyes are fixed on the things going on, there’s no hope for a life without fear, dread, or anxiety.

But if your eyes are fixed on Jesus, the world grows faint and you can truly see into the spirit realm where peace abounds.

When horses are used for work or racing, they are often fitted with blinders. These completely block out what’s on the left and the right so that the horse is forced to focus on what’s directly in front of it.

It doesn’t matter if there is a predator right beside it, the horse is not spooked or shaken because it does not see it. It does not focus on the bad. It trusts the one guiding it to take care of the problems it cannot see.

Like the rider of the horse, God continually guides us, if we allow Him to do so. Because of free will, it’s up to us to turn over our lives in surrender to the Father. But when we do, He fits us with spiritual blinders that will completely block out the evil and chaotic things of the world so that we are able to focus on what He has called us to do. When we don’t see the chaos, we don’t worry. We don’t live in dread. And when we do this, God is held to His covenant to be with us. He goes before us, watches our backs, our sides, and above our heads.

We must give the reins of our lives to the One who created us. Who better to lead and guide our lives than the Manufacturer?

Proverbs 3:6 says “in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make straight your paths.”

Contrary to popular belief, you don’t have to live a life of doom and gloom. You don’t have to live in fear of things the world is screaming about.

As my son would say, “the world isn’t your boss! Jesus is! You better listen to Him!”

If you allow God in every area of your life, He will absolutely give you clarity, direction, and protection.

“Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ. For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.”

‭‭Colossians‬ ‭2:8-10‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Don’t let the world convince you that it has more wisdom than the Father. If you see something on the news the world wants you to fall in line with, open your Bible and search the scripture to see what God says!

If it doesn’t line up with the Word of God, you better RUN!

It’s not news that the world is going to convince you to think and live opposite of how He has called you to. They want you as separates as possible from the will of God. That’s why we must give every single area of our lives to the Lord so that we are able to withstand the evil of the world.

God has your best interest in mind, never forget that. You are His child, His dearly loved creation. Fix your eyes upon Him and you will know exactly what to do. You will know what is pleasing and perfect according to His will and not the will of this world.

Turn away from the chaos and bask in the glorious presence of God.

You will never regret it!
